Flaws / Weaknesses

All In The Family. While her love for her family is quite strong, it is also her weakest point. Nyx has a much higher chance of acting irrationally if it involves her family, or those she cares for.

Skills / Abilities

Immortality. Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

Mother Tongue:. As the bridge between the mortal world and the divine, they speak all languages mortals do, even the long dead ones.

Primordial Goddess. Being a Protogenoi gives Nyx the advantage of having a vast knowledge of the world and its intricacies. She is well-versed in history, literature, music, and most major industries.

Limited Shapeshifting. Nyx can change aspects of herself to make her more human-like for the mortal plane; this allows her to mingle with humans day-to-day. When in battle or among immortals, she reverts to her natural state. When experiencing a sharp emotion, such an intense anger, stress, or sadness, sometimes this ability can slip and reveal her true form.

A Mother’s Love. Nyx can hide away mortals and, when necessary, immortals, from other mortals and most immortals. This does not work against other Protogenois.

Shining Night. Nyx flies across the night sky, painting stars in any shape she wishes. This can be used for hidden signals or messages, as well as flamboyant advertising.

Personal Attire

Normal Daily Wear: Gray or white slacks with black flats or stilettos, with a black or white dress shirt, tucked in. Alternatively, a long black sweater, thigh-high skirt, and knee-high boots.

Alternate Dress Wear: Fitted black pants, tapers into her ankles, fitted bustier with silver and gold filigree, laced in the back, and black stilettos. Wears a necklace with a hollow star on one end, and a solid crescent moon that slides into it.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons

Cloak of Darkness – When Hemera comes down to rest for the night, Nyx would sweep her cloak of the skies to bring night upon the world. It’s a bit harder to do now since someone thought cloaks weren’t fashionable anymore, so she has traded it in for a black, ankle-length cardigan.

Historical Synopsis

NYX was the goddess of the night, one of the primordial gods (protogenoi) who emerged as the dawn of creation.

She was a child of Khaos (Chaos, Air), and coupling with Erebos (Darkness) she produced Aither (Aether, Light) and Hemera (Day). Alone she spawned a brood of dark spirits including the three Fates, Sleep, Death, Strife and Pain.

Nyx was an ancient deity usually envisaged as the very substance of the night--a veil of dark mists drawn across the sky to obscure the light of Aither, the shining blue of the heavens. Her opposite number was Hemera (Day) who scattered the mists of night at dawn.

In ancient art Nyx was depicted as a either a winged goddess or charioteer, sometimes crowned with an aureole of dark mists.[1]
