Personal Information

General Overview: Khione is the Goddess of Snow. She was previously thought dead by Artemis’s arrow, and though she survived, she holds deep resentment toward the Olympians. She has kept to herself, learned to survive and grow with the mortals. She had a mortal husband once, but would not ask the Olympians for his immortality, and he passed away. Since then, she has taken to blending into the mortal world, studying and researching climate.

Deity Nicknames: Kia (key-ah) or Kee

Likes: technology, weather, science, Children who love snow, horses, other winter woodland animals.

Dislikes: crowds, confrontation, fire, summertime and bugs (yuck!), asking for help.

Flaws / Weaknesses

Aloof/ Extreme Independence. Khione will not depend on anyone else. She stays closed off and will struggle through a situation on her own. She does not speak up when she needs help.

Stage Fright. She has a deep fear of public speaking, and even gets upset at being the center of attention in a crowd or in a confrontation.

Temper. She appears to be cool, calm and collected, but a fiery storm rages underneath. Although she is timid and avoids confrontation; when provoked she can be vicious and cruel, and often turns herself into a blizzard to lash out and calm down.

Extreme Heat. Sensitive to heat, while she can envelop herself in cool air and frost her skin for moderately warm weather, prolonged heat will weaken her abilities and render her as useful as a puddle.

Skills / Abilities

Immortality. Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

Mother Tongue. As the bridge between the mortal world and the divine, they speak all languages mortals do, even the long dead ones.

Cryokinesis. She has the ability to control and bend snow and ice to her will, forcing it into shapes and objects or creating snowstorms. She can shift form into wind and snow and be the snowstorm herself. She has learned to expand her senses to track movement in snow-covered terrain.

Extreme Cold Temperature. She is immune to cold temperatures and often has a cold aura that flows from her, leaving frost on her skin that can spread to surrounding areas. She uses the frost to keep a layer of cold air around her when dealing with warmer temperatures.

Possessions

Normal Daily Wear: Blending in with mortal fashions, usually prefers to wear blue, black and white. Really likes the current fashion of oversize sweaters and leggings. Almost always has her white silk headband on.

Alternate Dress Wear: Dresses fabricated from the wind and snow, and her white cloak.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons

A simple White cloak that shifts forms with her to carry anything placed in her pocket.

Historical Synopsis

Although not much is recorded, Khione is a daughter of Boreas, god of the north-wind, and Oreithyia, the lady of mountain gales. Khione Is the Goddess of Snow, and usually resides in cold mountain tops. She has a son with Poseidon, Eumolpus, but threw him into the Ocean out of fear of her father’s wrath. Poseidon saved the boy and had him raised by one of his daughters.

Introduction by Scribe

It's been a long time since anyone has given me a passing thought, even my own family has forgotten me. I've been living a life of solitude in the mountains, just me, myself, and my business. I study the weather and climate. It keeps me occupied, and helps me to stay grounded. Literally grounded, and not causing an accidental ice age. Lately, there has been someone on my mountain, someone who wants to find me. I've avoided them a couple times, but I'm starting to think that maybe I should face him. Him and the rest of my past.
