Personal Information

General Overview: Hades is the god of the dead, not to be confused with Thanatos who is the god of death, Hades rules over all that live in the Underworld. After the conclusion of the Titanomachy, Poseidon, Zeus and Hades drew lots to divide the world between them. Poseidon and Hades let their youngest brother, Zeus pick first, as a sign of respect for the role he played in freeing them from their father, Kronos. Zeus drew the first lot, and became ruler of the skies and king of the gods. Poseidon drew next, as the oldest brother, and took the seas, becoming ruler of the deep and king of Atlantis. Hades drew last and took the Underworld, where he rules as king. Within the confines of the Underworld, Hades is supreme, outside it, not so much.

Deity Nicknames: Lord Hades, King Hades

Likes: Cerberus, expensive/exotic coffee, fast luxury motors, rock music

Dislikes: disobedience, murder, losing.

Flaws / Weaknesses

Fish Out of Water. Hades has trouble with the advanced world, technology and people are very different, he knows enough to struggle through, but could become a problem.

Weaker. When out of the underworld his power is reduced. His strengths come from his domain, and he becomes slightly vulnerable to dangerous foes when away.

Trust. He struggles to trust anyone, making him a bit of a lone wolf, he will work with others when necessary but will never open up to them, and will always keep his distance.

Flashy. Money is no issue and he has no problem showing it causing possible unwanted attention.

Cars. He has a weakness and love for cars. Touch his machines and his rage will show.

Brother's Keeper. Because of the immense responsibility of the Realms in their care, the Brothers oathed to become caretakers of the other's power and domain in the event of death, debilitation or abdication. As a result, the Brothers are bound to care for and respect each other's Realms knowing, should the worst occur, they could be charged with their care.

Skills / Abilities

Immortality. Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

Mother Tongue. As the bridge between the mortal world and the divine, they speak all languages mortals do, even the long dead ones.

King's Prerogative. To better administrate the care of the Three Realms, the Kings alone are allowed passage between each other's kingdoms without meeting the requirements of entry. This allows the Brothers to meet as needed or in secret to ensure all in their care is tended and tended well.

Seal of the King. Each of the Three Kings has a seal that binds spoken oaths to their Realms. Oaths sworn before the Three Kings and sealed by them are inviolable. Anyone that breaks oaths so sworn and sealed must suffer penalties not just in one realm, but in each realm, the penalties served consecutively and ordered by the one whose sealed oath was broken. The Kings may also use these seals alone, binding oaths to their individual realms, as needed.

Charm. Hades can convince almost anyone to do anything when in The Underworld, this ability is not as strong on Earth, but works to some extent.

Soul Bending. As ruler of souls, Hades has power over them, a power that he can use to summon, embody, and even resurrect.

The Rich One. Hades also has the ability to pull from the very earth, unearthing valuable ores, jewels and rare metals.

Personal Attire

Normal Daily Wear: Black suit, shirt. Tie, and shoes.

Alternate Dress Wear: Black t-shirt, black jeans, plain black sneakers.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons

‘’’Bident.’’’ Similar to the Trident and the Bolt, the Bident gives Hades his dominion over the Underworld, and a single touch of the Bident’s tip to an unwise soul can result in it’s utter obliteration.

Helm of Darkness. The Helm of Darkness allows Hades to travel the underworld unseen, traversing through the shadows. It’s effect outside the underworld is as of yet, untested.

Historical Synopsis

HAIDES (Hades) was the king of the underworld and god of the dead. He presided over funeral rites and defended the right of the dead to due burial. Haides was also the god of the hidden wealth of the earth, from the fertile soil with nourished the seed-grain, to the mined wealth of gold, silver and other metals.

Haides was devoured by Kronos (Cronus) as soon as he was born, along with four of his siblings. Zeus later caused the Titan to disgorge them, and together they drove the Titan gods from heaven and locked them away in the pit of Tartaros. When the three victorious brothers then drew lots for the division of the cosmos, Haides received the third portion, the dark dismal realm of the underworld, as his domain.

Haides desired a bride and petitioned his brother Zeus to grant him one of his daughters. The god offered him Persephone, the daughter of Demeter. However, knowing that the goddess would resist the marriage, he assented to the forceful abduction of the girl. When Demeter learned of this, she was furious and caused a great dearth to fall upon the earth until her daughter was returned. Zeus was forced to concede lest mankind perish, and the girl was fetched forth from the underworld. However, since she had tasted of the pomegranate seed, she was forced to return to him for a portion of each year.

Haides was depicted as a dark-bearded, regal god. He was depicted as either Aidoneus, enthroned in the underworld, holding a bird-tipped sceptre, or as Plouton (Pluton), the giver of wealth, pouring fertility from a cornucopia. The Romans named him Dis, or Pluto, the Latin form of his Greek title Plouton, "the Lord of Riches."[1]

Introduction Written By Scribe

I am King Hades, Lord of The Underworld and all of it dominions. You could say I am a watcher, listener, and often impatient god. I also rule over the dead, and of course those other out worldly creatures, and beings that are too dangerous to wander the earth. They are placed under my guard, who better to watch over them?

Although… I do get bored, so maybe it is time for me to take a trip up top? I have remained in the depths surrounded by death for far too long, I am immortal and it isn’t exactly natural. The Earth is calling me back, and I wouldn’t want to disappoint.

Time to return to land of the living…
