'''General Overview''': After leaving Olympus, Demeter decided to obtain her Juris Doctorate to practice family law for both mortals and immortals. While she does enjoy the finer things of clothes and gourmet food, she often finds herself seeking solitude at her cottage, but loves visits from her beautiful daughter, Persephone. She enjoys living among the mortals, especially driving her car and tending to her garden, to ground her back to earth.

'''Overly Protective.''' Demeter has a bad habit of becoming overly protective of those she loves. She will pull whatever strings she needs to in order to win, even if it’s not exactly legal.

'''Dislikes''': Master-manipulators, pollution, know-it-alls
+
'''Lonely.''' Since the murder of her only true love, the mortal Iasion, she’s never believed she could love another. Though she’s had many trysts over the centuries, her heart is still broken.
=== Flaws / Weaknesses ===

'''Secluded.''' Demeter likes to be alone and have her privacy and peace. This tendency to isolate herself and seek seclusion makes it hard to get to know her, and she often misses out on things happening in the GC when she is off by herself.

'''Type A.''' Demeter has a tendency to plan everything to the last detail to the extent of not going with the flow or being spontaneous. This holds her back from taking action in the moment because she has to weigh all the options before she makes a move.
+
'''Nosey.''' Demeter hates the idea that someone is keeping a secret. She’ll do anything to get the answers she wants, even if they’re not meant for her to know.

'''Overprotective.''' Demeter has long had a tendency to be overprotective of her daughter, Persephone. It has gotten better over the millennia, but when Persephone is stressed, the mother hen instinct kicks in and can make Demeter almost smothering with care and concern for her child.

'''Immortality.''' Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

'''Babble-speak.''' Can communicate in all languages and dialects.
+
'''Mother Tongue.''' As the bridge between the mortal world and the divine, they speak all languages mortals do, even the long dead ones.

'''Green Tongue.''' Demeter can speak to living plants as though they were people, hear and understand what they have seen and have said. Every living thing rooted in soil is her eyes and her ears and can communicate information.
+
'''Green Tongue.''' Demeter can speak to living plants and communicate with the living Earth, itself. Every living thing rooted in soil is her eyes and her ears and can communicate information.

'''Lifegiver.''' Demeter has the ability to make plants grow at any rate she wishes. This power is more intense if the plants are actual food crops.
+
'''Feast.''' Demeter has the ability to intensify the harvest of any given crop. For those mortals whom she holds in high esteem, she can give them a bountiful harvest and ensure their survival through the coming winter.

'''Withering.''' Demeter has the ability to draw life from plants (vampire-like), causing their physical mass to wither. This is not a decaying process, but more an instantaneous "husking." This power is combined with the use of the Sickle (see Magical Artifacts, below).
+
'''Famine.''' Demeter has the ability to wipe out an entire season’s crop with a wave of her hand. Though this is usually a last resort for her, she has been known to take out whole nations by depriving them of food.

'''Power of Persuasion.''' As the Goddess of Sacred Law, Demeter has the ability to influence immortals and mortals alike. Using language and rhetoric, Demeter can influence and convince others to take a right course of action, or even to see her side in an argument or negotiation. This power works through Demeter being able to sense what mental or emotional blocks the person has that prevents them from aligning with the right action or with her stance. Then she utilizes this information and her litigation skills to talk them around to her way of seeing things.

=== Introduction ===

Ahhh yes, I am back, my loves! I know I have been missing for a while, in which I will be able to fill you in about soon. I know I took in a lot of clientele for the GC law office and just kinda left… but you know, it was that time of year that I just needed to get out into nature and stretch my legs for a while.

I am sure my children will be most pleased with my return, along with my very devoted executive assistant, Aegis. I do hope Dionysus comes by the OA building soon to bring me some of his fine wine since as you know, I do have a taste for the finer things in life.

So my beautiful mortals, you shall hear more from me soon!
