= Flaws / Weaknesses =

N/A

= Skills / Abilities =

Immortality Nyx is technically immortal. She is immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections.

Babble-speak Nyx can communicate in all languages and dialects.

Primordial Goddess Being a Protogeno gives Nyx the advantage of having a vast knowledge of the world and its intricacies. Though she is still trying to keep up with technology and slang terms, she is well-versed in history, literature, music, and most major industries.

Limited Shapeshifting Nyx can change aspects of herself to make her more human-like for the mortal plane; this allows her to mingle with humans day-to-day. When in battle or among immortals, she reverts to her natural state. When experiencing a sharp emotion, such an intense anger, stress, or sadness, sometimes this ability can slip and reveal her true form.

A Mother’s Love Nyx can hide away a mortal from other mortals and most immortals. This does not work against other Protogenos.

Shining Night Nyx rides across the night sky with her chariot, painting stars in any shape she wishes. This can be used for hidden signals or messages, as well as flamboyant advertising.

Introduction written by Ashley Gallaher-Pollard

In the very beginning, there was only the Night. I was the first to awake in this world, and paint the heavens black. I must give credit to Prometheus and Athena, for they were the ones who breathed life into mankind. But it is I who gave you the Northern Star to guide you home, who hid you away when danger stalked you, who comforted your weary bones after a long day. You worshiped me eagerly and fearfully, and I will not lie – I took great pleasure in it.

However, this passed millennia has been driving more mortals into their new technology, ever striving for something bigger, something fancier. They spend countless hours with their faces pressed into blue screens, shouting at complete strangers over fictitious characters and their daily lives, and would prefer to debate the colour of a dress instead of discussing ways to help the environment – I’m so sorry, Gaia, love. They would rather tweet about the lunar eclipse than actually watch my daughter, Selene, rise beautifully into the skies. You watch horror movies depicting the Night to be a terrible and deadly thing, full of haunting creatures and dark magics, as if it were Tartarus. And sometimes, you are right. Even Hades prefers to not deal with Tartarus, and he is wise not to trifle with me.

But now Zeus, in his infinite wisdom and glory, has sent out summons to the Pantheon, decreeing that we, as a whole, need to build ourselves a name again. In the day and age where people would rather idolize each other, we have become ‘irrelevant’. Greedy words from a man whose name has become synonymous with ‘Mount Olympus’ or ‘Greek gods’. I, personally, do not believe that this is his true purpose for commanding the entirety of our people to suddenly go to Earth. Zeus is by far the most acknowledged liar and deceiver among all of us – just ask Hera, poor woman – and while there is nothing to prove this so far, I imagine he has some kind of ulterior motive, and most likely having to do with himself. However, since I have no proof of the kind, I will simply go as he has asked us to do, and see how this plays out in the mortal realm. But, that does bring me back to you.

I am Primordial, first of our kind, the only one to be feared by the mighty Zeus. I am not evil by nature, mortals. Nor am I not here to steal your pride or thrones, lesser divinities. I bring you the Night, your haven to fulfill your most passionate and crazed desires. Your wish for debauchery, away from eyes that do not understand, is granted among my shadows. It is the Night that lets you throw caution to the wind so that you may be free. My children, talented and numerous all of them, walk their own paths, but they always remember to come to their Mother for anything they need or desire. And if you’ve the mind, I am sure my husband Erebus would gladly acquiesce to any song requests you may have if you happen to visit my nightclub, Nox. You just need to mention my name.

So come to me. We will bathe in starlight, shadows held in a lover’s embrace, and when you learn the ways of the Night, you too will see that it is nothing but the promise of sacred magic and tantalizing secrets only I can keep.
