It should come as no surprise that I make my own luck, and in a wager, I won Par Impar, a world class casino resort in the Caribbean. With our many attractions, including our aquariums, snorkeling, and miles of white sandy beaches, people come here to relax, rejuvenate, and see if the wheel of fortune spins in their favor. We’re a favorite resort of those on private yachts and many a mogul will dock in our harbor.

Personal Information

General Overview: Tyche is known to grant favor or not on a whim and is often described as being fickle. Life is but a game, so it’s important to know the rules. She enjoys the chase and excitement that mortals provide, the way they fling themselves through their daily lives and rewards boldness and courage, the kind of firm determination that might be like a writer working hard on the next novel or an entrepreneur taking a bold move in a crowded market.

She finds love and romance to be too unpredictable in this modern age, the “rules” of courtship not well established and all too up to personal interpretation. So she keeps her relationships strictly business, and would much rather be the one to spin the wheel of fate rather than be spun.

She spends most of her time at her Caribbean resort. Enough excitement finds her there that she sees little value in traveling, but she’s also been known to show up at horse races or other big sporting events. She blends in well with the surroundings, so it’s quite possible you never know that Lady Luck is peering over your shoulder, ready for your next move.

Likes: Gambling, Horse Races, Sporting Contests, Boldness, Directness, Courage, Determination

Dislikes: Ambiguity, Deceit, Cheating, Breaking The Rules

In her determination to escape her past, she dives into her work at Par Impar and in some ways has forgotten that she’s a goddess. She spends far more time among the mortals than the other gods and she prefers it that way. She’s quick to judge, quick to anger, and when you lose her trust it’s gone forever. She’ll pull your luck just as quickly as she’ll grant it and not care either way. In fact, she’s getting rather tired of the games that mortals and gods alike play, and is looking for something greater.

Immortality. Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

Babble-speak. Tyche can communicate in all languages and dialects.

Golden Touch. Tyche has the ability to imbue any small with good fortune. Dice that always roll seven, charms that hang from the rearview mirror in a car, a wedding ring. This touch of luck is permanent, resulting in such items often being willed to descendants as “lucky”. Because they are.

Lady Luck. Through her subtle powers of telepathy, Tyche can implant a thought or idea in the mind of a mortal to push them towards luck — good or bad, depending on her mood. The mortal never knows what cause the lucky (or unlucky break). She must be in physical contact with the mortal for the telepathy to occur.

All That Glitters. Tyche has the ability to create the illusion that something appears more beneficial or less beneficial than it is. This illusion is temporary, lasting only until someone recognizes the item for what it is, thus dispelling the illusion.

Serendipity. Tyche has the ability to do small acts of telekinesis to prevent or create lucky and unlucky events. Not that anyone ever knows it was her.

Personal Attire

Normal Daily Wear: She prefers slacks these days and when walking around her resort can often be seen in a dressy jacket, sleeveless blouse and shorts with sandals. She usually wears jeweled bracelets and earrings that are shaped like gold dice or horseshoes.

Alternative Dress Wear: Tyche wears tasteful, classical lines and looks. She prefers a good looking dress over a designer label if she has a choice, and thinks that it’s sexier when you leave some things to the imagination. She prefers shorter heels, far more practical and easier on the feet that way.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons

Golden Dice bag: She has a gold velvet bag that contains all the usual props of gambling like dice, cards, chips and a roulette ball. She’ll use these to entertain her exclusive guests or perhaps for an impromptu turn at the roulette wheel or card table.

Golden Cornucopia: She has a golden cornucopia from which she can pull pomegranate seeds to either grant or withdraw luck. Other artifacts dot her villa at Par Impar, but she prefers not to mention them.

Introduction written by Mary Kit Calesto

Welcome, welcome to Par Impar, where it doesn’t matter if you came on a cruise ship or on your own private yacht. We’re all subject to the whims of fate, and I should know, for it’s rumored that I won this beautiful island casino on a wager. A wise one, I assure you, though I’ll never tell the story.

If you’d like to get down to business, you’ll find our slots are loose, our dealers darling, and our roulette wheel more than ready to land on red or black. Prefer a little pari mutuel wagering? We have simulcasts from some of the world’s best race tracks, or perhaps sports betting is more your game. I prefer the ponies to the footballers myself, but everyone loves something and is willing to bet on anything.

When you’re done gambling or out of money, don’t worry; the house is ever generous. Stroll along our pristine beaches or through our grotto aquarium and beautiful displays. You’ll find your room comfortable with soft linens and only the finest amenities for my guests. When you awake refreshed and ready to try your luck again, our games will await you. Or, perhaps you never go to bed at all. We are here whenever you want to try your luck.

I assure you if you came here as a part of your business trip that my staff is discreet and won’t tell if you spend the day at the beach instead. We cater to C-level executives and the worker alike, and ensure that you’re treated like the royalty you are.

You see, some may call me fickle, but I love mortals. You’re so delightful and your boldness and courage is unmatched, except perhaps by that of a big cat chasing prey across the savanna. I love how you live in the moment and how you apply yourself so fully to your pursuits.

So here, take a pair of dice on the house. Let me kiss them for you for luck. But remember, any luck you gain or lose is wholly yours. After all, we’re all subject to the whims of the Fates, am I right?
