She has now returned to fiercely protect her family and find out who abducted her and why she can’t remember anything during her absence.

Deity Nicknames: Aunt Dem

Likes: The taste of her special blended teas, the feeling of her hands in the soil, bonfires, aged wine

Dislikes: Being lied to, not knowing everyone’s secrets, seeing her family in turmoil.

Flaws / Weaknesses

Overly Protective. Demeter has a bad habit of becoming overly protective of those she loves. She will pull whatever strings she needs to in order to win, even if it’s not exactly legal.

Lonely. Since the murder of her only true love, the mortal Iasion, she’s never believed she could love another. Though she’s had many trysts over the centuries, her heart is still broken.

Nosey. Demeter hates the idea that someone is keeping a secret. She’ll do anything to get the answers she wants, even if they’re not meant for her to know.

Skills / Abilities

Immortality. Technically immortal. Immune to the effects of aging, cannot die by any conventional means, and is immune to all known mortal diseases and infections. As a deity, they are able to teleport, or "pop" anywhere in the mortal plane with a few exceptions, the God Floors of the GC HQ are mystically protected, so no teleporting to or in between them, anything on the non-mortal plane, i.e., the Underworld, Atlantis, and the Void, are non-accessible without a guide.

Mother Tongue. As the bridge between the mortal world and the divine, they speak all languages mortals do, even the long dead ones.

Green Tongue. Demeter can speak to living plants and communicate with the living Earth, itself. Every living thing rooted in soil is her eyes and her ears and can communicate information.

Feast. Demeter has the ability to intensify the harvest of any given crop. For those mortals whom she holds in high esteem, she can give them a bountiful harvest and ensure their survival through the coming winter.

Famine. Demeter has the ability to wipe out an entire season’s crop with a wave of her hand. Though this is usually a last resort for her, she has been known to take out whole nations by depriving them of food.

Power of Persuasion. As the Goddess of Sacred Law, Demeter has the ability to influence immortals and mortals alike. Using language and rhetoric, Demeter can influence and convince others to take the right course of action, or even to see her side in an argument or negotiation. This power works through Demeter being able to sense what mental or emotional blocks the person has that prevents them from aligning with the right action or with her stance. Then she utilizes this information and her litigation skills to talk them around to her way of seeing things.

Possessions

Normal Daily Wear: When she is in the courtroom, she’s business all the way. Tailored suits and sensible shoes.

Alternate Wear: When at home, comfort is key. A pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt are all she needs. Though she has several pairs of shoes, she rarely wears them around the house.

Magical Artifacts/Weapons:

Sickle of Harvest. The sickle draws from the power of the land and consumes the life essence of plants and empowers Demeter with a temporary shield of protection.

The Polished Poppy. A large piece of Carnelian carved into her sacred flower, the Poppy. By rubbing the stone, she can command nature to come to her aid, both plants and animals alike. It sends out a call for everything living to come to her aid.

The Ethereal Eye. A sapphire necklace Demeter wears to light her way in the dark. Given to her by the Goddess of Magic during her search for Persephone, the sapphire itself comes from the cave which protected her baby brother, who in turn, rescued her and her siblings from their eternal abyss.
